Ethan Cartwright graduated from Tarleton State University in 2005.  While there, he earned the Joe R. Long and Teresa L. Long Scholarship for Academic Merit and was a founding member of and the Student Organization Forum Representative the Tarleton Political Science Association.  In 2008, he graduated from Texas Wesleyan School of Law where he earned an Academic Merit Scholarship and served on the Law Review as a Staff Member and Associate Editor.  During law school, he also served as a volunteer Income Tax Return Preparer for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.  Following law school, he graduated from the University of Denver’s Sturm School of Law with an LLM in Taxation in 2009.  While there, he served in the Low Income Tax Clinic as a Student Attorney and was awarded an Academic Scholarship.

 After completing his education, Mr. Cartwright began practicing bankruptcy at Higgins & Associates, P.C.  with a focus on representing Debtors.  In 2012, he started with The Allen Firm, P.C. where he served as the Litigation Team Manager and Lead Attorney on the Litigation Team.  His practice there was diverse.  While continuing to represent debtors and various banks and creditors in bankruptcy matters, he also represented clients in state and federal court in areas of practice including collections, accident/injury, family law, employment law, and general civil litigation from file retention through discovery, bench and jury trials, and post-judgment collection.  In the summer of 2017, Mr. Cartwright joined Pam Bassel’s Standing Chapter 13 Office as the Staff Attorney.  In addition to his legal work, Mr. Cartwright has also been involved with various organizations including the John C. Ford American Inn of Court, the Young Lawyers Committee of the Bankruptcy Section of the State Bar of Texas, Jake Remembered, a charitable organization raising funds to combat cancer, and Leadership Stephenville.
